Got
Your
Back
With back to school around the corner, Kid2Kid hosted their second volunteer initiative, called ‘Got Your Back’ in July and August.
With the help of many families from the Beaches Community, organizers Caroline and Shah purchased back to school essentials including backpacks, lunch bags, and school supplies, for kids residing at the local Red Door Shelter. Due to COVID-19, the initial plan of assembling the backpacks as a community was not possible. Rather some families individually packed the bag(s) they had sponsored and the Kid2Kid team put the rest together and delivered the goods. Some of the folks that participated shared how rewarding it was to have their kids take part of something that they really are able to understand and be part of.
Below are some quotes and photos from this wonderful opportunity that we had.

How it works
-
Before you apply, come up with three potential business ideas, for example: cake pops, handmade charm bracelets or painted crafts (remember to be VERY specific, for example baked goods would not get approved nor would jewerllery).
-
Submit your ideas through our registration form along with your $20 registration fee. Be sure to enter how many team members will be on your team (maximum is 6 youth)
-
We will get back to you within 72 hours - if your idea has not been taken by another entrepreneur, you will be approved for your first idea, if your first idea has been taken we will look at your second idea and so on.
-

-
Please note that this is an entrepreneurial and charitable event and 50% of your earrings as a vender will be given to Kid2Kid which will be donated to the Red Door Family Shelter.
