With back to school around the corner, Kid2Kid hosted their second volunteer initiative, called ‘Got Your Back’ in July and August.
With the help of many families from the Beaches Community, organizers Caroline and Shah purchased back to school essentials including backpacks, lunch bags, and school supplies, for kids residing at the local Red Door Shelter. Due to COVID-19, the initial plan of assembling the backpacks as a community was not possible. Rather some families individually packed the bag(s) they had sponsored and the Kid2Kid team put the rest together and delivered the goods. Some of the folks that participated shared how rewarding it was to have their kids take part of something that they really are able to understand and be part of.

The next marketplace will be on May 31, 2025, from 11:30am-2pm. Vendor applications open in early April 2025.

Monetary donations are eligible for tax receipts. In-kind donations can include items for our "Got Your Back" initiatives, such as backpacks, school supplies, winter essentials (like socks and hats), or non-perishable snacks (e.g., hot chocolate, granola bars).
