With back to school around the corner, Kid2Kid hosted their second volunteer initiative, called ‘Got Your Back’ in July and August.
With the help of many families from the Beaches Community, organizers Caroline and Shah purchased back to school essentials including backpacks, lunch bags, and school supplies, for kids residing at the local Red Door Shelter. Due to COVID-19, the initial plan of assembling the backpacks as a community was not possible. Rather some families individually packed the bag(s) they had sponsored and the Kid2Kid team put the rest together and delivered the goods. Some of the folks that participated shared how rewarding it was to have their kids take part of something that they really are able to understand and be part of.

Last summer our first ever Kid's Marketplace raised over $10,000 and 100% of the proceeds benefited the youth at the Red Door Family Shelter in Leslieville. Check out our blog post on what took place and what you can expect this year.
