On Wednesday, August 6th, a group of youth volunteers led the effort to pack 90 backpacks with school supplies for children living at the Red Door Family Shelter in Leslieville.
The supplies were purchased using funds raised at this year’s Kids’ Marketplace, an event that develops leadership skills and involves kids in volunteer work.
We were also truly touched to have Malavika from the Red Door team join the packing session—thank you for lending a hand and showing your support.
We’re also grateful to the Beaches Recreation Centre for continuing to provide us with space year after year.
Today, the backpacks were delivered to Red Door—along with a $6,000 donation to support their ongoing work with families in need.
