Toronto Roofing Industries  | (416) 694-0906 | At Toronto Roofing Industries Ltd., we believe that there are many qualities that set companies apart. What we find always to be at the root of any company’s success, however, is the organization’s ability to achieve and sustain high levels of performance. That performance is neither hereditary nor accidental. It is the outcome of deliberate choices made by senior executives.

Many competing companies can–for a time, at least, appear almost identical. They share the same targeted markets, business model, revenue base, employee compensation, etc. But over time, these companies performances start to vary and soon, it becomes obvious that they never really were the same.

T.R.I. actively manages the interaction between leadership, strategy, innovation and technical knowledge in a way that produces outstanding and sustainable results. It is staffed and managed to provide reliable, high-quality service, resulting in long-term effective service life of all its installations.

Our vision and values contain very clear and explicit directions for how each of the company’s core elements ought to be managed and what competencies the organization needs to develop to achieve and sustain high performance.

Our Story: We are a sister team that has lived across the globe from Quito to Mumbai, Hanoi To Kyiv, Toronto to NYC. We spend our youth living in India, and went back as mothers and fell in love (all over again) with the subcontinent's vibrant textures and bold colours. We were inspired to build a platform to showcase the art of Rajasthani hand block printing. The idea of AMA Kaftans was born.

Our story begins in 1971 along the cobblestone streets of Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market. It was here where Starbucks opened its first store, offering fresh-roasted coffee beans, tea and spices from around the world for our customers to take home. Our name was inspired by the classic tale, “Moby-Dick,” evoking the seafaring tradition of the early coffee traders.

Ten years later, a young New Yorker named Howard Schultz would walk through these doors and become captivated with Starbucks coffee from his first sip. After joining the company in 1982, a different cobblestone road would lead him to another discovery. It was on a trip to Milan in 1983 that Howard first experienced Italy’s coffeehouses, and he returned to Seattle inspired to bring the warmth and artistry of its coffee culture to Starbucks. By 1987, we swapped our brown aprons for green ones and embarked on our next chapter as a coffeehouse.

Starbucks would soon expand to Chicago and Vancouver, Canada and then on to California, Washington, D.C. and New York. By 1996, we would cross the Pacific to open our first store in Japan, followed by Europe in 1998 and China in 1999. Over the next two decades, we would grow to welcome millions of customers each week and become a part of the fabric of tens of thousands of neighborhoods all around the world. In everything we do, we are always dedicated to Our Mission: With every cup, with every conversation, with every community - we nurture the limitless possibilities of human connection.

Tina: Every time I work on a floral piece, I think about the bouquet of pink silk roses that my husband gave to me when we found out I was pregnant with my daughter. For over 27 years, these flowers have stayed bright and beautiful by my side through all of life’s milestones, including my husband’s passing four years ago. No matter where I am, this bouquet reminds me of the wonderful life I’ve had and the wonderful people I’ve been able to spend my life with. Their forever vibrancy reminds me to live life the same way!

Tina trained in floral arrangements with various florists in the Greater Toronto Area. Her artistic bouquets are influenced by her love of bold fashion and experience with home staging.

Hello and welcome! We are Julie and Katie, the two moms behind the baby store August Kinn. Before opening our store we were university roommates who became neighbours on the same street and then first-time moms just six weeks apart. August Kinn was born (shortly after our little ones arrived) from our shared obsession with scouting unique, well-made baby apparel and accessories.  Located in our beloved east end Toronto neighbourhood on Danforth Avenue, August Kinn is an inspired space filled with our favourite selection of baby + toddler apparel, accessories and nursery accents. Plus gifts for grown-ups, too.

The name August Kinn comes from a simple, meaningful place. We share August as a birth month and were inspired by our families (kin) to open our dream baby store.

Thanks for following our journey. If you are in the neighbourhood, pop in. We look forward to seeing you!

What makes a company? It’s more like who makes a company…. Over the years I have had staff come and go for many different reasons. Although they all have taught me something new, contributed value to the company to help it grow and define Cool Green & Shady into who ‘we’ are today.

I use to have posed photos of us on this page, but this last photo was taken at our team holiday party where we all just enjoyed being together, while letting loose and having fun. In this photo there is a new team member that jumped right in during a very busy time, team members who have been with me for years, and have become more like family… supporting me and understanding me through all the ups and downs that come with this crazy, wonderful business. Some of the team have left and then come back. Young team members that I’m watching grow at the speed of light. Some are actual family who helped me paint the walls of the first location almost 20 years ago.

In 1976 Book City opened its doors to the people of Toronto. Situated in the Annex, one of Toronto’s great neighbourhoods, it has been treating its customers to an eclectic range of books ever since. Toronto bibliophiles must have liked us, or our books at any rate, because forty years on we have four store locations across Toronto.

Book City was founded and is still operated by a family that goes back four generations in the book business. Perhaps this is why we at Book City stick to a more traditional method of book selling. We jam our bookcases full of new and backlist titles, pack our tables high with bargains, and staff our stores with people who love reading as much as our customers do. Book City is privileged to serve the neighbourhoods of Toronto. With our attentive staff, 10% discount on all hardcover titles, a great selection of imported bargain books, and the best Loyalty Card in the business, we hope to stay your neighbourhood bookstore for many generations to come.

Steeped in love, slowly made ceramics.

Steaped Slow Ceramics are a unique art form in that they bring beauty to objects which can be used everyday. My hope is that my handmade goods add a mindfulness and joy to the daily rituals they are used for. From taking a moment for yourself to sip a morning coffee in a mug crafted to feel good in your hands, to enjoying a tumbler of wine among friends.

My goods bring a little magic back to a simple gift, a regular activity that may have lost some luster in its commonplaceness. Each item has been steeped slowly with love and care, to be loved and enjoyed for a long time.

Evergreen Tree Care is owned and operated by three Qualified Arborists. We started business in 2019 and aim to provide Toronto with safe and professional tree care. We like to think of ourselves as a "tree preservation" company; that is, we will not immediately suggest removing a tree if it can be made acceptably safe and continue to provide aesthetic and ecological value to our client and the landscape. However, we are no stranger to difficult removals in the tight urban backyards! In addition to pruning and removals, we grind stumps, provide arborist reports, and plant new trees (our favourite!) Visit our website: www.evergreentreecare.ca to learn more or phone/text us at 416-546-4889. We'd love to meet you!

All children should have access to quality educationFairness and equity are at the core of our values. Founded by a teacher and a parent, we profoundly understand the connection between the teacher and the student. A teacher’s working condition directly impacts students’ learning conditions. For children to succeed, teachers need to succeed. We believe all children should have access to quality education that serves their unique needs. We strive to aid families by easily finding qualified educators to support their child’s education.

We strive to support educators by giving them autonomy over their working conditions and income potential.
We support families, students, and educators in fostering a community of learning for a richer society.

On the 14th of July, 2013, we opened our doors for the first time. What an incredible journey it's been since then. Opening a bagel shop was always our dream that came into reality! We knew we could offer something unique and special with the right setup, and we decided to put things into motion to make this happen.

It was not easy but all our handwork paid off when we opened our first Bagels on Fire store at Queen St. East . Then we opened our second location at 426 Queen St. West, on the 9th of December 2019.
